UA Students Participate in Co-Op Jobs

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – UA’s Cooperative Education Program is an academic program in which a student alternates periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. The program offers work experience to academic major or career interests of each student. It also enhances the student’s employment prospects after graduation.

UA student Stanford Ballard of Mountain Brook is working for Mercedes-Benz in Vance in a cooperative education position. Ballard, son of Patrick Ballard, is a graduate of Mountain Brook High School. He is majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in mathematics at UA.

UA student Eldrick Tate of Montgomery is working for Boise Paper Solutions in Jackson in a cooperative education position. Tate, son of Ernest and Denise Tate, is a 2002 graduate of Brewbaker Tech Magnet High School. He is majoring in electrical engineering with a minor in mathematics at UA.

UA student Phillip Adams of Vestavia Hills is working for Georgia Pacific in Cedar Springs, Ga., in a cooperative education position. Adams, son of Steve and Peggy Adams, is a 2002 graduate of Vestavia Hill High School. He is majoring in mechanical engineering at UA.

UA student Daniel Gottschalk of Hoover is working for Pfizer Inc. in Austin, Texas, in a cooperative education position. Gottschalk is a 2000 graduate of Hoover High School. He is majoring in international marketing with a minor in Japanese at UA.

UA student Ryan Garrett House of Rogersville is working for International Paper in Courtland in a cooperative education position. House is a 2003 graduate of Lexington High School and the son of Gary and Mitzi House. He is majoring in chemical engineering with a minor in computer based honors at UA.

UA student Anderson Renaud of Florence is working for Mercedes-Benz in Vance in a cooperative education position. Renaud is a 2003 graduate of Mars Hill Bible School. He is majoring in engineering at UA.

UA student Andrew B. Bush of Manchester, Tenn., is working for NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., in a cooperative education position. Bush is a graduate of Coffee County Central High School in Manchester, Tenn. He is majoring in telecommunication and film and minoring in political science at UA.

UA student Heather Ann Turner of Montgomery is working for Mercedes-Benz in Vance in a cooperative education position. Turner is a 2002 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and the daughter of Charles and Lundi Turner. She is majoring in civil engineering at UA.
