UA to Hold Student Success and Achievement Day March 6

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama will hold its first Student Success and Achievement Day on the quad, Saturday, March 6, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

The mission for this event is to unite the UA community with the Greater Tuscaloosa community in partnership for education and learning.

Organizers for the event have three goals for the day:

  • Educate students about opportunities for excellence and future success.
  • Motivate students to be their best and excite them about learning.
  • Inspire students to discover their passions and interests.

This event is designed for people of all ages. Various stations will be spread across the quad with informational booths, activities, sports games and science experiments.

The event is sponsored by Volunteer Services, the Student Government Association, the Coordinating Council for Student Organizations, University Programs and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. This event is a collaborative effort, bringing together not only the community and these organizations but also student groups including: the Anthropology Club, various honor societies, UA Admissions and Career Services.

Event coordinators are seeking further help in making the Student Success and Achievement Day a success in itself. If you or your organization would like to sponsor an event or assist in any way, contact event co-chairs Grace Shelby at 205/347-8657, or Katie Gillespie at 205/752-0763.
