Project R.O.S.E. (Recycled Oil Saves Energy), the volunteer used motor oil recycling program for the state of Alabama, is inviting the public to participate in the seventh annual “Run for the Roses” 5K race at The University of Alabama on March 6.

Sales of existing homes in Alabama jumped 16.6 percent in December to 3,891, contributing to a record number in 2003 of 47,351 houses sold, according to figures from the Real Estate Research and Education Center at The University of Alabama. The December increase followed a small decline in November.
The University of Alabama College of Arts and Sciences School of Music will present the 19th annual Alabama High School Honor Band Festival Feb. 5-8. The festival was developed to recognize the achievements of exceptional high school musicians.
