TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Elections Board has set Feb. 9-25 as a “preliminary campaign period” for 2004 Student Government Association candidates on campus.
In order to qualify for participation in the preliminary campaigning period, potential candidates must submit their Statements of Candidacy and Statement of Intent to the UA Office of the Dean of Students prior to Feb. 9.
During the preliminary period, candidates are limited to speaking in front of registered student organizations. For a complete listing of all registered student organizations, visit the UA Coordinating Council for Student Organizations Web site at www.ccso.ua.edu.
Candidates are advised to contact organization representatives in order to arrange a time to speak in front of the groups. It is up to each individual group whether or not to allow candidates to speak; however groups are encouraged to be democratic and provide equal time to all who request it.
