Alpha Psi Omega to Hold 10-Minute Play Festival to Benefit West Alabama AIDS Outreach

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama theatre honors fraternity Alpha Psi Omega is staging a 10-minute play festival Thursday, Dec. 4-Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. each night in the Allen Bales Theatre on the UA campus. The suggested donation is $5 at the door with all proceeds going to West Alabama AIDS Outreach.

The pieces to be performed are “Words, Words, Words” by David Ives, “The Risen Chris” and “The Fling in Question” by Vicki Caroline Cheatwood, “The Red Coat” and “A Lonely Impulse of Delight” by John Patrick Shanley, “Snatches” by Gaye Jeffers, “That’s What It’s All About” by Brad Bailey and an original piece by Tiza Garland.

Each show is directed by a UA theatre department faculty member or a directing graduate student. Show directors include Tina Fitch, Andre LaSalle, Steve Burch, Gaye Jeffers, Tiza Garland and Steve Ray. These directors’ credits include UA’s productions of “Hamlet,” “Breaking Legs,” “The Liar” and “Pippin,” just to name a few.
