The University of Alabama kicked off Homecoming Week with the 15th annual Roll Tide Run on Sunday, Oct. 5. Nearly 350 students participated in the two mile walk, while 40 runners competed in a 10K run.
The 2003 University of Alabama homecoming court was selected in a general student election on Oct. 7-8.
The University of Alabama Office of Student Media will unveil the 2003 “Wall of Fame,” to honor and preserve the names of distinguished leaders in media. Dr. Tom Reichert, author and professor of advertising in the College of Communication and Information Sciences at The University of Alabama, will be signing copies of his new book, “The Erotic History of Advertising,” on Oct. 10 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Books-A-Million.

Five of the state’s leading business and civic leaders will be inducted into the Alabama Business Hall of Fame on Thursday, Oct. 16 at the Bryant Conference Center on The University of Alabama campus.

The event is 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, at the Tuscaloosa Public Library, 1801 Jack Warner Parkway.
Enrollment in The University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing hit an all-time high this semester – welcome news to a health care industry reeling in the midst of a national nursing shortage. The flood of students has led to creative ways of obtaining sufficient classroom and laboratory space.
