TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Students invited to attend The University of Alabama’s Capstone Scholars Day on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, will receive a renewable scholarship of at least $1,250 per year for four years, if the student maintains a cumulative 3.0 GPA at the University.
To be invited, the student must be an entering freshman with at least a 27 ACT or 1200 SAT score and a 3.5 academic grade point average. The upcoming October ACT and November SAT results are the last scores accepted for Capstone Scholars Day consideration. The student also must complete the admissions application by Dec. 1, 2003.
Students invited to participate in Capstone Scholars Day, the annual premier-recruiting event sponsored by Undergraduate Admissions for entering freshmen, earn priority consideration for a wide range of scholarships, including the top Tier I and Tier II awards, such as Presidential Scholarships.
The Capstone Scholars Day activities introduce these high school students to academic and cultural aspects of University of Alabama life. Tentative activities include attending typical classes, discussing the students’ intended majors with representatives from UA colleges and schools, interacting with representatives from UA honors programs, and learning about Residential Life options.
