‘Control and Growth’ Topics at Upcoming Family Business Forum at UA

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – “Financing the Family Business: Balancing Control and Growth,” will be the theme of the upcoming Family Business Forum meeting Nov. 7 in the Rast Room at the Paul Bryant Conference Center on the campus of The University of Alabama.

Jim Murphy, a partner in the firm of de Visscher, Olson & Allen L.L.C., a leading financial advisory and investment banking firm to family companies, will lead the discussion designed to address the key issues of control, liquidity and sustainable growth in your family business.

Paavo Hanninen, director of the Family Business Forum, said he hopes participants will gain valuable insight into how to balance the need for company control with successfully growing the business into the next year.

“This forum will allow family businesses to better understand the questions they are facing and realize that they are not alone when facing these issues now and in the future,” Hanninen said.

“The Family Business Forum is dedicated to addressing the issues and concerns surrounding family-owned business, and this seminar will emphasize the balance that is needed to control a company’s and family’s financial resources, an essential factor during our declining economy,” Hanninen said.
