UA Career Center to Host Annual Career Fair Sept. 19

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Students and alumni of The University of Alabama will have an opportunity to meet more than 120 potential employers in one day and in one place when the UA Career Center hosts its annual Career Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

The Fair will be held in the Bryant Conference Center from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The Career Fair is an opportunity for all alumni and students, freshmen to graduates, to discover employment and internship positions available across both the Southeast and the nation.

Students from all disciplines and majors will find an organization interested in their field at the Career Fair. Because the Fair is often students’ first contact with potential employers, they are encouraged to dress professionally and to bring copies of their resume.

More than 120 businesses are registered to participate in the event. Several of these organizations will be recruiting from UA for the first time. Some of the participants in the Career Fair will include the Alabama Department of Transportation, AmSouth Bank, HealthSouth Corp., Kimberly-Clark Corp., Southern Co., and Target Corp. and Distribution Center.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to stop by and visit with employers during the Career Fair. Employers are seeking new ways to recruit students and are interested in the way many of the UA academic programs function. Employers also want to help faculty and staff members serve as resources of career information for students.
