Kuehn Named UA Law Professor and Clinics Director

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Robert R. Kuehn has been named to The University of Alabama School of Law faculty as professor of law and director of clinical programs, effective July 1.

Kuehn will teach a course on the legal profession this fall and will oversee the UA Law School skills program, which includes clinics in elder law, pension counseling, children’s rights, disability litigation, criminal defense through the local public defender program, and student legal issues. These clinics allow UA law students to accumulate practical legal experience by applying classroom instruction to actual cases.

Kuehn holds a B.A. from Duke University, a J.D. from George Washington Law School, an LL.M. from Columbia Law School, and an M.P.H. from the Harvard University School of Public Health. He has served as professor of clinical law at Tulane Law School and director of its environmental law clinic for 10 years. Prior to that, he was a trial attorney for the Environmental Enforcement Section of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
