“Team UA” Family Day Set for May 8

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ‚ The University of Alabama will host “Team UA” Family Day on the Quad from 4-7 p.m., Monday, May 8.

UA faculty and staff are invited to bring their families for music, children’s activities, a drawing for prizes, food and fun. Hot dogs and soft drinks will be served continuously so that families may come at any time during those hours.

UA offices will be staffed until 4:45 p.m., but as office duties rotate, all employees will be able to participate.

Prizes will include: six $50 bills from the Alabama Credit Union; mugs from the Supe Store; football tickets from the UA Alumni Office; four $25 meal cards from Bama Dining; an espresso maker; T-shirts, food coupons and other items.

Among the children’s activities will be a musical petting zoo, sponsored by the UA School of Music; face painting and a big bounce, both sponsored by the UA Alumni Office; and athletic games sponsored by UA Recreational Sports.

The Minnie Miles Award will be presented to an outstanding non-faculty UA employee during the event. Food sponsors R.L. Ziegler Packing Co. Inc. and Bama Dining are donating the hot dogs and drinks.
