Crimson Promenade Groundbreaking Set for April 14

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Officials at The University of Alabama will break ground for the Crimson Promenade, a landscaped pedestrian area to be constructed adjacent to the Student Services Plaza between Ferguson Center and the Student Services Building, at a 1 p.m. ceremony, Friday, April 14, at the site.

The privately funded project will include thousands of engravable brick pavers, allowing donors to see their names etched in stone at the Capstone.

UA President Andrew Sorensen will participate in the ceremony along with UA alumni Richard Cowart and Connie Stockham, co-chairs of the project, and newly-elected SGA President Emily McMurphy.

The Crimson Promenade will celebrate the University’s historic leadership role and recognize service to the University by alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends. Proceeds beyond construction costs will fund programs that support leadership and career development among UA students.
