TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Air Force ROTC is currently offering Express Scholarships to students graduating between Oct.1, 2001 and Sept. 30, 2002.
An Express Scholarship pays up to $15,000 a year toward tuition, books, lab fees and a $200 a month stipend during the academic year.
To be eligible for an Air Force ROTC Express Scholarship, individuals must have at least a 2.65 cumulative GPA, achieve qualifying scores on the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test and pass a medical physical and fitness test. Candidates will also have to attend a five-week training camp this summer.
In addition candidates must have a major in chemistry, computer science, meteorology, engineering, foreign studies, computer information systems, mathematics, physics or foreign language.
The Air Force ROTC also offers Pre-Health Scholarships, Medical School Scholarships and IN-College Scholarships.
Applications are available at local Air Force ROTC units or affiliated hosts. Students are selected for scholarships on a best-qualified basis and subject to Air Force needs.
