A-Day Game, Alumni Weekend to be Held at UA

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama National Alumni Association is sponsoring Alumni Weekend on April 14-15 in conjunction with A-Day festivities.

Alumni Weekend is designed for alumni nationwide to observe the progress occurring at the Capstone and reminisce with college classmates. The A-Day football game will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, in Bryant Denny Stadium.

The weekend kicks off with a reception and dinner at the NorthRiver Yacht Club. On Saturday, campus tours are scheduled, including a tour of the Bryant Museum. The Alumni Luncheon will be held in Sellers Auditorium at the Bryant Conference Center at noon. During the luncheon, recipients for the 2000 Distinguished Alumni Awards, the Alumni Student Awards and the Alumni Outstanding Senior Awards will be recognized.

The A-Day football game will conclude the weekend activities.

Along with the festivities, the weekend hosts the Golden Fifties Club Reunion and the Class of 1950 Reunion. On Saturday, the Class of 1950 will be inducted into the Golden Fifties Club during the reunion breakfast at the Four Points Hotel. Dr. Pat Travis, senior vice president of Co-Operative Retirement Services of America, Inc. (CRSA), will serve as the keynote speaker. CRSA are the developers of Capstone Village, the retirement community to be built on the UA campus.
