Laura Morett

Dr. Laura Morett is assistant professor of educational psychology and neuroscience in UA’s College of Education, where she also serves as the director of the Neuroscience of Education Research on Development Lab. Morett’s research, which has been funded by the US Department of Defense, NSF, and Language Learning (peer-reviewed journal), investigates how the brain supports learning across the lifespan in typical and atypical populations by examining the neurobiology of language processing and acquisition, with a particular focus on the relationship between spoken/written language and gesture. Morett can speak on the topics of gesture, language and literacy, autism, the mind-brain-body relationship and educational neuroscience.
