Kim Bissell

Professor

Dr. Kim Bissell is a professor in the College of Communication and Information Sciences and serves as the college’s Associate Dean for Research. She is the Southern Progress Endowed Professor in Magazine Journalism and also serves as the University of Alabama’s Director of Undergraduate Research. She serves as the Director for the College’s Institute for Communication and Information Research and the co-director of the Health Communication Lab. Her research interests lie in the intersection of media, health, sport and children, and her recent publications have been related to the role of media in the development of children’s nutritional knowledge and attitudes.
