Dr. Amanda Wilkerson is an assistant professor in the Department of General Studies in Human Environmental Sciences. Her research incorporates an ecological framework to investigate influences on sedentary behavior and primarily focuses on the workplace setting. She is interested in exploring factors that contribute to adults’ sedentary lifestyles and developing strategies to reduce sedentary behavior and increase physical activity among working adults. The aim of her research is to design and test theory-based health education and promotion programs to reduce sedentary behavior and increase physical activity using both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
