- Buildings surrounding the quad will open for sheltering in severe weather. Strobe lights will indicate open facilities. Enter through FRONT ENTRANCES only.
- South of the stadium, shelter is available at the Magnolia and Tutwiler parking decks.
- The complete list of shelter areas is also available via a campus map.
If lightning is detected within 5 miles of the stadium,
- All security screening into the stadium will cease, and gates will close.
- Those in line will be advised to seek shelter in available buildings surrounding the quad (with strobe lights), or south of the stadium in the Magnolia and Tutwiler parking decks.
- Screening will resume only when the weather is clear.
DURING THE GAME
- The game will cease, and fans will be directed to seek shelter in the concourse or to leave the stadium for shelter in any of the available refuge buildings.
- Ticketholders will be able to return to the stadium with a valid mobile ticket.
SAFETY FIRST!
- If you are unable to quickly reach a building, seek cover on low ground. Remove objects that contain metal, place your feet together, duck your head, and crouch down low with your hands on your knees.
- STAY AWAY from all outdoor metal objects like flag poles, fences, gates, high mast light poles, metal bleachers, golf carts, machinery, etc.
- AVOID trees, water, open fields, and high ground.
- Wait for an all-clear before leaving the refuge or resuming outdoor activities.
- Stay away from potential hazards (damaged buildings, downed power lines, puddles of water, broken glass, nails, and other sharp objects).
- Plan ahead by checking local weather at least 24 hours prior to the game. Download the UA Safety App (available on iOS and Android), tune in to 92.5 FM UA Info Radio, and monitor @uagameday and @ua_safety on social media for timely weather information.
- Lightning is a danger regardless of how far away it seems to be. When thunder roars, go indoors.
- Call 911 for emergency services.
