UA Honors College to Expand Education Outreach Program

The University of Alabama Honors College is expanding its Education Outreach program beginning in 2016. Some 265 Honors College students participate in three mentoring initiatives: a literacy program for elementary students; a character development program for middle school students; and a science, technology, engineering, arts and math program for pre-kindergarten children.

Winter 2015 Graduates Announced at UA

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama will award some 2,200 degrees during winter commencement Saturday, Dec 12, on campus. With this graduating class, UA will have awarded more than 249,000 degrees since its founding in 1831 as the state’s first public university. UA Honors College Students to Perform Service Projects in Marion

About 35 students and 10 student leaders from The University of Alabama’s Honors College will perform hands-on service projects in downtown Marion from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Nov. 14. Projects include painting and gardening as well as general maintenance. Once the students finish their work, the student leaders will lead discussion about the day’s events in small groups.

UA Feminist Caucus Offers Panel Discussion on Reproductive Rights

The University of Alabama Feminist Caucus will hold a panel discussion on reproductive rights in the South at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, in Lloyd Hall, room 133. The event is free and open to the public.
