Stacy L. Jones, assistant dean of students at The University of Alabama, has been selected as a lead facilitator for The LeaderShape Institute, which will be held this month at Michigan State University.
The University of Alabama awarded some 2,323 degrees during spring commencement ceremonies held May 13 in Coleman Coliseum on campus.
More than 60 Shamblin family members and friends gathered recently at the College of Community Health Sciences’ library at The University of Alabama for a rededication ceremony. The ceremony was held to change the name of the computer labs both at the library and DCH from the Dr. Roscoe Shamblin Computer Lab to the Dr. Roscoe and Dr. Bill Shamblin Computer Lab.

Dr. J. Michael Hardin has been named associate dean for research at The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Commerce. Hardin will replace Dr. Carl Ferguson, associate dean for research and technology, who has announced his retirement, effective Dec. 31.

The Coca-Cola Foundation has recently made a scholarship donation of $1 million to The University of Alabama’s “Our Students. Our Future.” campaign. The grant is an extension of the Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarship program and the University will be the program’s first public institution partner.
