UA Honors Five Distinguished Engineering Fellows
The University of Alabama College of Engineering recently honored five alumni and friends of the College by inducting them into its class of 2007 Distinguished Engineering Fellows.
The University of Alabama College of Engineering recently honored five alumni and friends of the College by inducting them into its class of 2007 Distinguished Engineering Fellows.
The University of Alabama School of Law is ranked 15th among public law schools and 36th among all law schools in the nation, according to U.S. News and World Report’s 2008 edition of its annual “Best Graduate Schools” publication. The ranking is the highest ever for the UA Law School, which has been ranked among the Top 50 law schools for nine consecutive years.
University of Alabama students Mary Allison Milford of Magnolia, Ark., Stephanie Wheeler of Norlina, N.C., Alana Nichols of Farmington, N.M., and Desiree Miller of Monroe, Wash., have been selected by head coach Ron Lykins as members of the 2007 U.S. Paralympics Women’s Wheelchair Basketball National Team.
The newly renovated Bibb Graves Hall at The University of Alabama will be rededicated Thursday, March 29 at 4 p.m.
Delta Xi Phi Multicultural Sorority Inc. has established a national scholarship honoring University of Alabama student Brandy Nicole “Nikki” Murphy.
Thanks to a successful student SPIRIT Campaign, The University of Alabama student body and UA’s Student Government Association will award six $2,000 SGA SPIRIT Scholarships this spring. All full-time UA students who have a minimum grade point average of 2.2 and who are the first in their immediate family to attend college are eligible to apply.
The University of Alabama will honor the scholarship and leadership of students and faculty with 2007 Honors Week activities on campus April 2-6.
The University of Alabama’s collegiate license tag program raised almost $2.5 million during the 2006 calendar year. Funds raised through the statewide program are used for scholarships for graduate and undergraduate students.
The University of Alabama College of Engineering will hold a dedication ceremony in honor of naming the James Massey Hire Jr. and Mildred Ray Hire Design Clinic Laboratory on Friday, March 23, at 10 a.m.
Dr. Robert Taylor, professor of mechanical engineering at The University of Alabama, was recently elected to the grade of fellow by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
