Some 300 journalism students and advisers from high schools across the state were on The University of Alabama campus Friday, Feb. 25, for the annual convention of the Alabama Scholastic Press Association.

The University of Alabama Board of Trustees has conferred the highest honor it gives to a faculty member to Dr. Ernest A. Mancini has been named a University of Alabama Distinguished Research Professor by the board.
