UA Professor Receives Outstanding Educator Award

Dr. Roy Maize, associate professor and director of the restaurant, hotel and meetings management program in The University of Alabama College of Human Environmental Sciences, has been selected to receive the Lamp of Knowledge Award for Outstanding U.S. Educator from the American Hotel and Lodging Association Educational Institute.

Aaron Quick, a University of Alabama senior majoring in civil and environmental engineering, recently placed fourth in the Daniel W. Mead contest for students sponsored by the American Society of Civil Engineers. Quick was one of five national winners for papers featuring risk management and engineering.
