UA SAE Wins Outstanding Branch Award

The University of Alabama Society of Automotive Engineers collegiate chapter is the recipient of the 2009 Honeywell Outstanding Branch Award. The chapter will be presented with a plaque and $600 at the SAE 2009 World Congress in Detroit, Mich., April 20-23. This is the second consecutive year UA’s SAE has received this award.

Scholarship, Leadership Recognized at 2009 UA Honors Day

UA Honors Three Distinguished Engineering Fellows

The University of Alabama College of Engineering honored three alumni of the College by inducting them into its class of 2009 Distinguished Engineering Fellows. Robert M. Lightfoot Jr., John S. Richardson and Dr. Angela Summers received the top honor the College presents at a ceremony on April 4 at NorthRiver Yacht Club.

UA SIFE Team Named Regional Champs; Headed for National Competition

The University of Alabama Students in Free Enterprise team was named the 2009 Regional Champion at the recent SIFE USA Regional Competition in Atlanta. The event was one of 16 such competitions held across the United States in March and April.
