UA’s Rural Health Institute Recognized for Work with Children’s Health Initiative

The University of Alabama Rural Health Institute for Clinical and Translational Science was recognized for its work with the Governor’s KidCheck Health Initiative during an earlier ceremony at the State Capitol. The ceremony was hosted by Gov. Bob Riley and the Alabama Power Co.

UA Honors Donors of Limited-Edition Lithographs of Picasso Drawings

A reception marking the gift of 15 lithographs of drawings by the 20th century’s greatest artist, Pablo Picasso, to the art and art history department and The College of Arts and Sciences will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in Gorgas Library at The University of Alabama. The reception is in honor of the donors of the lithographs, Dr. Virginia Rembert Liles, professor emeritus of art and art history, and Raeford Liles.

UA’s Marr’s Field Journal Wins Pacemaker Award

Marr’s Field Journal, The University of Alabama’s undergraduate student literary and arts magazine, won a national Pacemaker award at the Associated Collegiate Press/College Media Advisers convention.
