TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama will award some 2,113 degrees during fall commencement Saturday, Dec. 15, on campus. Four outstanding educators were recently inducted into the The University of Alabama College of Education Educator Hall of Fame. The late Dr. Harold Bishop, Dr. Paul Hubbert, Jeanice Kirkland and Dr. Jayne Meyer were inducted as inaugural members of the Hall of Fame.
Dr. Bobby Wilson, a professor in the department of geography at The University of Alabama, has been named the recipient of the 2012 Presidential Achievement Award, given by the Association of American Geographers, for his career-long dedication to anti-racist scholarship in geography.
Michelle Hindman, a senior in chemical and biological engineering at The University of Alabama, was recognized for research presented through a poster at the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, or AIChE, 2012 annual meeting in Pittsburgh.
