BASF, UA Formalize Ionic Liquids Partnership
BASF and The University of Alabama today formalized BASF’s exclusive licensing of patents covering the use of ionic liquids to dissolve, regenerate and process cellulose as well as an arrangement for continuing research by UA for BASF concerning the use of ionic liquids with cellulose.
A Rare Piece of Early UA History Coming Back to Campus
On Thursday, March 9 at 11 a.m. Dr. Tom Goodale, executive director of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, and Barbara Pawlikowski, SAE archivist, will present The University of Alabama W.S. Hoole Special Collections Library a ledger book of reports to the UA board of trustees dating from 1838-1864.
Krystal on UA Campus to Film Commercial for New Product
A crew from the Krystal Co. will be on the UA campus Wednesday and Thursday, March 8-9 from 9:30 a.m.-dusk near the Ferguson Center Plaza and Crimson Promenade area to conduct their “man on the street” interviews for a new ad featuring Crimson Tide fans and their unrehearsed comments about the new Krystal Pup (small hot dogs).
APR Report Shows Progress for Football, No Penalties for Any Sport
The NCAA Division I 2004-05 Academic Progress Rate reports released today show The University of Alabama football program significantly improved from the last report – up 36 points in the two-year average for football. UA will not receive any penalties or scholarship reductions in any sports.
