Study Ranks UA Real Estate Program 28th; Director of Real Estate Center 46th in Research Publishing
A study published in the Journal of the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association ranks The University of Alabama real estate program 28th in real estate research. The study also ranks Dr. Leonard Zumpano, professor of finance and director of the Alabama Real Estate Research and Education Center, No. 46 among the top 50 individual authors who have published in the top three real estate journals based on the influence of research works as measured by citations.
Students Complete UA Rural Health Scholars Program
A select group of 25 students from across the state recently completed the 2006 Rural Health Scholars Program at The University of Alabama.
UA Finance Department Ranked 14th in Recent Study
The finance department at The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Commerce ranks 14th and 35th nationally, according to a study done by two professors at Western Kentucky University.

The University of Alabama is again ranked among the top 50 public universities in the nation, according to U.S. News and World Report’s annual rankings for 2007. UA is ranked 39th among public national universities.
UA Engineering Students Form New Environmental Student Chapter Association
Environmental engineering students at The University of Alabama have joined with the Alabama Water Environment Association’s Students and Young Professional Committee to establish the first Water Environment Federation Student Chapter in the state of Alabama. UA’s new student chapter is named the Black Warrior Environmental Association.
Hank Lazer Named Associate Provost at UA
University of Alabama Provost and Executive Vice President Judy Bonner has announced the promotion of Dr. Hank Lazer to associate provost for academic affairs effective Aug. 16. Lazer has served as assistant vice president for undergraduate programs and services since 1998.
August Graduates Announced at UA
The University of Alabama awarded some 1,100 degrees during summer commencement ceremonies held Saturday, Aug. 12 in Coleman Coliseum on campus.
