The Alabama Museum of Natural History and The University of Alabama Arboretum will host a St. Valentine’s Day dinner featuring a presentation on antique roses, Feb. 14, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Smith Hall, located off 6th Avenue on the UA campus.
A total of 3,155 students enrolled during the fall 2001 term at The University of Alabama made the Dean’s List with academic records of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) or above, or the President’s List with academic records of 4.0, announced Dr. Nancy Barrett, UA provost and vice president for academic affairs.

A Fairhope dancer and arts patron, a University of Alabama graduate and noted poet, and two Alabama arts organizations will be honored for their contributions to the arts by The University of Alabama’s College of Arts and Sciences during its annual awards gala Thursday, Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m. in the Morgan Hall theatre at 7:30 p.m. The gala will include performances presented by UA fine and performing arts programs.
Registration for this spring’s Alabama Museum of Natural History vacation tour of the Galapagos Islands closes March 15, or when all spaces are filled.

A best-selling biographer of Eleanor Roosevelt will give a talk on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ferguson Theater on The University of Alabama campus, as part of UA’s continuing Bankhead Lecture Series. Admission is free, and the public is invited.
