UA to Host Youth Summit Feb. 7-8

Some 120 high school student leaders from across Alabama will discuss issues facing the state and present their top 10 issues to Gov. Don Siegelman’s staff at the Alabama Youth Summit at The University of Alabama this Thursday and Friday, Feb. 7-8.

First-Ever Visit of a Cosmonaut to UA Includes Presentation for Public

Two visitors from Russia, cosmonaut Pavel Vinogradov and space technologist Alexandre Martynov, will visit The University of Alabama campus to give a presentation on the Russian space program titled “From MIR to Mars” on Monday, Feb. 11, from 6-7:30 p.m. in 126 H. M. Comer Hall. This will be the first time that a Russian astronaut has visited UA.

UA Arboretum to Hold ‘Privetpullooza’ Friday & Saturday

The University of Alabama Arboretum will hold “Privetpullooza,” an event that will help arboretum staff remove invasive plant species from the facilities, on Friday, Feb. 8, from 1-5 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 9, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the UA Arboretum.

UA Career Center to Hold Etiquette Seminar and Job Expo

The University of Alabama Career Center will host the second annual Dining and Etiquette Seminar on Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 7-9 p.m. in the Ferguson Center Ballroom. This event will allow students to enjoy a five-course meal while meeting with recruiters. A fashion show of interview business attire “do’s” and “don’ts” will also be a part of the event.
