Wood is New Coordinator of UA’s Freshman Engineering Program

The University of Alabama awarded some 2,250 degrees at spring commencement exercises held Friday, May 17, in Coleman Coliseum on the Tuscaloosa campus.
Dr. Robert W. Halli Jr. has been named director of the University Honors Program at The University of Alabama, according to Dr. Nancy Barrett, UA provost and vice president for academic affairs. The appointment will be effective Aug. 12.
Dr. Walter S. Misiolek has been named interim dean of The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration, replacing Dr. J. Barry Mason who has been named interim president at UA.
Adult creative writing classes in both poetry and fiction writing will be held from June 3 through July 22 at The Language Connection in downtown Tuscaloosa. The University of Alabama co-sponsors The Creative Writing Connection in conjunction with The Language Connection.
New York’s Radio City Entertainment is offering a comprehensive summer training program in conjunction with The University of Alabama. The Rockette Summer Intensive will be held June 2-7, 2002. The program is the first of its kind and is designed to allow young dancers to connect with the professional dance world, as well as give students the opportunity to discover and develop their dance potential.
