The University of Alabama is again preparing to lead the state in helping uninsured children with a $900,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for the foundation’s Covering Kids & Families project.
The Jefferson, Blount, and Shelby Local Initiative, a project of the Jefferson County Health Department, has been awarded a $194,720 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to help connect eligible uninsured children to free and low-cost health coverage in those counties, announced Tracy Carter, statewide project director for Covering Kids & Families, based at The University of Alabama.
The Governor’s Office on National and Community Service and the University of Alabama Women’s Resource Center will host “Our Voice — An Initiative for Alabama’s Women” regional meeting at the University of Alabama Law School main lecture hall, room 187, Saturday, June 15, from 10 a.m.-noon.

Donna I.
