Capstone Club to Present Another $100,000 at Halftime of UA vs. UGA Basketball Game

The Capstone Club will present a check for $100,000 to The University of Alabama during halftime of UA’s basketball game against the University of Georgia, Tuesday, Feb. 18. The presentation brings to $300,000 the amount the Capstone Club has donated to UA within the last three years.

U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch to Sign Books and Deliver Keynote Speech at UA Law School Banquet

U.S. Sen. Orrin G. Hatch (R-Utah) will sign his book and deliver the keynote speech at the Farrah Law Society’s annual alumni banquet on Friday, Feb. 28, at the Scrushy Center in Birmingham. The Farrah Law Society is The University of Alabama School of Law’s alumni association.

UA Report: Fourth Quarter Housing Affordability Index a Record

The Alabama Housing Affordability Index (AHAI) reached another record in the fourth quarter of 2002 at 196.6. This surpasses last quarter’s record level of 188.4 (revised) and sets a new annual record affordability level of 186.5, according to the Alabama Real Estate Research and Education Center at The University of Alabama.

UA College Bowl Representatives Crowned in Tournament

Twenty-one teams from residence halls, Greek letter organizations, honor societies, campus departments and just groups of friends competed for the chance to represent The University of Alabama in the 2003 College Bowl Regional Championship. For the second year, Tom Cherones, award-winning director and Tuscaloosa native, and his wife, Joyce Keener, a television writer, will teach a four-week advanced production class in the telecommunication and film department in The University of Alabama’s College of Communication and Information Sciences.
