UA’s School of Music Announces 2003-04 Celebrity Series Schedule

The University of Alabama’s School of Music is proud to announce its Celebrity Series concert schedule for 2003-04. This season’s three offerings of Empire Brass, pianist Olga Kern – sponsored by the Gloria Narramore Moody Foundation – and Kronos Quartet will offer a variety of styles to delight audiences.

UA Dinoff Lecture to Focus on Headaches

Dr. Frank Andrasik, senior research scientist at the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition and professor of psychology at the University of West Florida, will be the guest speaker for the annual Michael Dinoff Memorial Lecture at The University of Alabama on Friday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. in 208 Gordon Palmer Hall.

Carrie Freeman of Samantha has been named a University of Alabama Rural Medical Scholar.

UA Honors Students to Volunteer at Local Elementary School

Some 50 freshmen in The University of Alabama’s Honors Program, along with 10 student leaders, will come to campus a week early to take part in a community service project at Matthews Elementary School in Northport Aug. 11-15. The program is the third annual “Alabama Action” project organized and carried out by UA honors students to benefit the community.

Home Ownership Fair Coming to UA Campus

A home ownership fair designed to show west Alabama residents how they can own their own home is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 12 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Bryant Conference Center on the UA campus.
