UA Computer Science Department Receives New Grant

The University of Alabama College of Engineering computer science department was recently awarded the first Active and Collaborative Learning Grant. The grant, given by the University, is worth $11,000, and it will be used to modify the Introduction to Computer Programming Laboratory course into more of a problem-solving experience.

Burgio Named UA Distinguished Research Professor

The University of Alabama Board of Trustees has conferred the highest honor it gives to a faculty member to Dr. Louis D. Burgio, professor of psychology, director of UA’s Applied Gerontology Program and co-director of the Center for Mental Health and Aging. Burgio has been named University of Alabama Distinguished Research Professor by the board.

UA Students Receive Awards on Honors Day

Student awards were recently presented as part of Honors Day ceremonies at The University of Alabama. The awards were announced during the Tappings and Awards Ceremony held Friday, April 16, in Tuscaloosa.
