Two longtime Employees Win 2017 Library Leadership Faculty and Staff Awards
University of Alabama Libraries has named Mary S. Alexander and Brock Tyra as the recipients of the 2017 Library Leadership Faculty and Staff Awards.
Alexander and Tyra were each given $2,000, presented with a framed certificate at the Library Leadership Board luncheon in April and had their names added to the Library Leadership plaque displayed in Gorgas Library.

University of Alabama rising senior Sommer Hallquist has been selected for a highly competitive summer internship at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Cloisters in New York City.
The Cloisters is a museum specializing in medieval architecture and is part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Poist Represents UA at Equestrian Nationals
Courtney Poist, a senior at The University of Alabama, recently became the first equestrian rider in UA history to qualify for the Cacchione Cup, which takes place at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Nationals each year.
