UA Museum’s ‘Discovering Alabama’ Lands Emmy Nomination

“Discovering Alabama,” an award-winning nature television series produced by The University of Alabama’s Alabama Museum of Natural History, is one of three finalists for an Emmy Award, presented by the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences, Southeast Chapter.

Dr. William H. Weems, director of the Safe State Occupational Safety and Health Consultation Program in the College of Continuing Studies at The University of Alabama, has been awarded the William J. Higgins award, the first national OSHA award for safety excellence in the small business community.

UA Student Receives GEM Fellowship

Joy Garnett, a junior majoring in chemical and biological engineering, has been awarded a Fellowship from The National Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering and Science Inc., otherwise known as the GEM Consortium.
