TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Crossing Points, The University of Alabama’s transition program for special needs students, recently received the “Best Practices” award from The Association of Persons in Supported Employment.
ASPE was formed in 1988 to improve and expand integrated employment opportunities, services and outcomes for persons experiencing disabilities.
“We are so grateful for the Best Practice award,” said Amy Williamson, a transition teacher at Crossing Points. “We strive to be a model program and give our students a positive and authentic transition experience.”
Crossing Points, a collaboration between UA’s College of Education and the Tuscaloosa city and county school systems, provides transition services for students with disabilities ages 18-21 to aid them in their move from high school to adult life.
