The Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue Service will hold a simulated disaster drill Tuesday, Jan. 10 in and around Bryant-Denny Stadium. The training event for the department’s mutual aid teams will take place in the area of Paul W. Bryant Drive and 10th Avenue and Wallace Wade between Eighth Street and Bryant Drive. The triangle parking lot located next to Evergreen Cemetery will be used for a portion of the drill and participant parking.
The exercise will be completed under the Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program designed for fire service mutual aid teams. Funding to conduct this training is being provided by a grant from the Alabama Emergency Management Agency to Tuscaloosa County EMA.
Other public safety participants in the disaster drill include the Tuscaloosa Police Department, UA Police Department, the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Tuscaloosa County Emergency Management Agency.
