With holiday shopping in full swing this time of year, stocking stuffers seem to get lost in the shuffle, and it’s sometimes difficult to come up with cute ideas for children.
You don’t have to spend a lot of money on things for the stockings, but what you put in them may initiate great conversations and create wonderful memories and traditions that your children may pass along.
The University of Alabama’s Amy Walker provides some tips on finding the ideal stocking stuffers for your children.
- There are always the packs of gum, candy canes, toy cars and small balls.
- You can always add something they need, like a pair of socks or gloves, toothpaste, a toothbrush and even pens and pencils for school.
- An apple or orange is always a great filler if you forgot to pick up a few things.
You don’t have to be extravagant. After all, the old wives’ tale says that if you were naughty then you got a lump of coal in your stocking. Anything is better than that.
