TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Freshman Forum, an organization that teaches students about leadership while also providing hands-on opportunities for leadership in action, recently elected officers for the 2006-2007 academic year.
Within the organization there are five different teams, each one focusing on a different area on campus.
The 2006-2007 officers and their teams are:
Public Policy — Camaran Williams of Pell City, chair; John Elder of Clanton, vice chair; Molly McPherson of Madison, secretary/treasurer
Professional Development — Jamie Gile of Parker, Colo., chair; Stephen Swain of Tuscaloosa, vice chair; Katie Brock of Birmingham (zip code 35242), secretary/treasurer
Ethics and Social Responsibility — Andy Karst of Collierville, Tenn., chair; Tripp Jones of Andalusia, vice chair; Erica Olsen of Madison, secretary/treasurer
Community Outreach — David Frinfrock of Memphis, chair; Danielle Borsh of The Woodlands, Texas, vice chair; Julia Israel of Birmingham (zip 35213), secretary/treasurer
Creative Campus — Addie Mancuso of Birmingham (zip 35213), chair; Ben Kallam of Birmingham (zip 35243), vice chair; Rebekah Rush of Duncanville, secretary/treasurer.
The University of Alabama moved closer to its total enrollment goal of 28,000 students by enrolling a record 23,878 students this fall. Enrollment at UA is up almost 10 percent over last year. The entering freshman class, at 4,378, is the largest in UA history.
