TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama African-American Graduate Student Association has announced the winners from the final round of the 2006-2007 Business Plan Competition for African-American students.

Student winners included:

Grand Prize — Terrance Meade for Elite Next Level who received $2,500 provided by the African-American Graduate Student Association

1st Runner-Up — Antwon Prince for Kingdom Enterprise who received $1,000 provided by the UA College of Business

2nd Runner-Up — Dextor Lewis and Keon Little for UmBlah who received $500 provided by the UA Black Faculty and Staff Association

The UA Business Plan Competition for African-American Students started last semester with several teams of students submitting a concept that described a proposed business. The business concept was used to determine which students were invited to submit a full, detailed business plan for the competition. Seven finalists presented their business plans to a panel of judges in February and the top plans were chosen as the winners.
