UA Honors College Presents Fall Town Hall Event

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Honors College kicks off its 2014 Fall Town Hall series with “Knowing Your Rights”  at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, in the Ferguson Center Forum. This event, which is free and open to the public, will address Town Hall’s most requested subject: how to protect one’s rights and know what to do in difficult situations.

Panel participants are John England, Tuscaloosa Circuit Judge and former Alabama Supreme Court justice; Bill Bowen, attorney and former presiding judge of the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals; and Bill Clark, attorney and past president of the Alabama Bar.

The panelists will introduce and comment on typical scenarios to inform students how they can best protect their rights and minimize issues. Audience members may then present hypothetical situations to the experts for their advice.

Town Hall is an interactive program that brings together students, faculty and community members to create solutions to real-world problems. For details, contact Bob McCurley at rmccurle@ua.edu.
