
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — A University of Alabama chemistry professor ranks among the top 1 percent of most cited researchers in his field worldwide in 2014, according to a report published by Thomson Reuters.
Dr. Robin Rogers, Robert Ramsay Chair of Chemistry at UA and director of UA’s Center for Green Manufacturing, made the Highly Cited Researchers 2014 list available at www.highlycited.com/
The list represents some of the world’s leading scientific minds, according to the site. Approximately 3,200 researchers earned the distinction by writing the greatest numbers of reports officially designated by Essential Science Indicators as Highly Cited Papers.
Rogers, who earned both his bachelor’s and doctorate degrees in chemistry from UA before joining the faculty at Northern Illinois University, has served on UA’s faculty since 1996.
UA’s chemistry department is part of the College of Arts and Sciences, the University’s largest division and the largest liberal arts college in the state. Students from the College have won numerous national awards including Rhodes Scholarships, Goldwater Scholarships, Truman Scholarships and memberships on the USA Today Academic All American Team.
