UA Law Library Collection Named in Honor of Law School Alumnus Thomas G. Mancuso

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Thomas G. Mancuso, a 1968 graduate of The University of Alabama Law School, has established a fund to support a special library collection in the Bounds Library at the UA School of Law.

Mancuso, shareholder and president of Mancuso & Franco P.C. in Montgomery, pledged $50,000 to the UA Law School to establish the Thomas G. Mancuso Library Collection for Tax and Corporate Law.

Dean Kenneth C. Randall said, “Tommy Mancuso understands legal education and appreciates the resources required by a good law school. His generosity will help the school enhance its collection in the ever-important fields of tax and corporate law.”

The Bounds Law Library provides students, faculty, attorneys and other users with a substantial research collection of American, British Commonwealth and international legal materials. The Bounds Library holds more than 250,000 bound volumes and 115,000 microform-equivalent volumes, and subscribes to over 3,000 periodicals and journals. More than 300 private carrels for research and study are available for students in the Bounds Library’s 65,950 square feet.

“With the Mancuso Collection, we will be able to provide our users with a full range of taxation materials, including works by the most advanced and theoretical thinkers in the field,” said Paul Pruitt, assistant law librarian for collection development and special collections. “The Mancuso Collection will reinforce the library’s commitment to cutting-edge scholarship.”

The UA School of Law is ranked among the top 15 public law schools in the nation.
