By Oct. 15 of each year, each coeducational institution of higher education that participates in any federal student aid program and has an intercollegiate athletic program must prepare an Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) report and make it available upon request to students, potential students and the public. The University of Alabama Department of Athletics’ report for the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act is available upon request at the following locations: Office of Intercollegiate Athletics and Office of University Relations. The report can be accessed on the Internet at https://eada.ia.ua.edu. A paper copy of the report will be provided upon request by contacting the Office of University Relations.
The Higher Education Act of 1965 requires institutions to make certain information available to the campus community and general public. The Through the Doors website is devoted to the 50th anniversary of UA’s desegregation and also serves as a source of historical information, beginning with Autherine Lucy’s attempt to enroll at UA as the first African-American student in 1956.

SAS 9.4 is now available for download through the University’s enterprise agreement. SAS 9.4 is a limited release for 64-bit operating systems only. Users may continue to use SAS 9.3. UA students who have Turning Technologies clickers may need to update their firmware for the devices to work properly. Students can do the update themselves by clicking here and following the instructions in the tutorial. Each year, The University of Alabama publishes the UA annual Campus Security Report, which contains crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years. The report also details UA security policies and procedures. The Campus Security Report is provided in accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and is available to view or print online at safety.ua.edu. The Alabama Department of Public Safety, a state agency, also provides an online listing of sex offenders currently registered with the state. This listing is available on the Alabama Department of Public Safety website at www.dps.alabama.gov. (Click on the “Community Information Center” link). The Student Government Association, UA College Republicans, UA College Democrats and UA’s Roosevelt Institute Campus Network invite all students to the “Can Kicks Back” Generational Equity Tour event Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 5:30 p.m. in the Ferguson Center Theater. Participants will view “Overdraft,” a documentary that highlights the growing U.S. deficit and its critical implications for individuals and U.S. economic competitiveness. Alpha Chi Omega’s “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” relay race to raise awareness of domestic violence will be held Oct. 22 at the corner of Bryant Drive and Colonial Drive. GAME-DAY WEEK
- Know how to “Get in the Game.” The Crimson Tide football team will face the Arkansas Razorbacks at 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPN. Whether you currently have tickets or need tickets, you will want to know how to “Get in the Game,” how the changes to the way student tickets are handled affects you, how to enter the stadium (Gate 30 or 31) and how parking near the stadium affects you. - Parking Reminder — On game-day weekends during football season, many parking lots are used for Tide Pride and game-day parking. The following lots and areas must be vacated by 5 p.m. on Fridays of all home games: Colonial Drive south of Eighth Street, the south one-third section of the Coleman Coliseum lot, the Tutwiler main lot and “triangle” lot, the lower Student Recreation Center lot, the Northeast Campus Drive lot and the large lot east of the Moody Music Building. Re-entry to all faculty and staff lots, with the exception of the Ferguson deck, will be restricted after 5 p.m. on game-day Fridays. Click here for a map that shows the parking-lot closures.
- Tailgating Reminder — Tailgating is an important part of every football season, especially on the Quad. Following campus policy for tailgating helps to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable experience. Friday is a regular academic day at UA, and classes are still in session until 6 p.m.; therefore, reserving areas for personal tailgates on the Quad is not permitted until after 6 p.m. on Fridays prior to home games. Reserving all other campus areas is not permitted until after 5 p.m. on Thursday evenings prior to home games. The only areas that are permitted to be reserved prior to these times are those that have been approved in advance through the campus grounds-use permit process. Graduate Students are invited to submit abstracts for the 2014 Alabama Modern Languages Conference. The conference will take place Feb. 7-8. Graduate students in any discipline are invited to present 20-minute papers in English, Spanish, French or German relating to the theme of “Converging Cultures: Languages, Literatures, and Identity.” The deadline for abstract submission is Nov. 15, 2013.
