Brewbaker Named Interim Dean of UA School of Law

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — William Brewbaker has been named interim dean of The University of Alabama School of Law.

Brewbaker, the William Alfred Rose Professor of Law, assumed his new duties July 1, and he will continue in the interim position until a permanent dean is hired.

Brewbaker joined the UA School of Law faculty in 1993 after practicing law in Birmingham for six years. He is co-editor of two books in Aspen’s Health Care Corporate Law series and has written law review articles dealing with health care antitrust, price regulation, physician unionization, managed care liability, and theological perspectives on law.

He earned his bachelor’s degree at Vanderbilt University, his J.D. at the University of Virginia and his LL.M. at Duke University.

Also, James Leonard, associate dean for Legal Information Services and the James M. Kidd, Sr. Professor of Law, has been appointed interim vice dean for the School of Law.
