ODK National Honor Society Names UA Student Region III Leader of the Year

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Louise Crow, a University of Alabama student from Mobile, has been named Regional Leader of the Year by Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society for college students.

Crow was chosen for the Region III honor based on her leadership and scholarship and her dedication to ODK.

She has been active in ODK’s new member welcome event, providing orientation and information to UA inductees. She was also involved in the group’s “Read Across America” service project, and she was a host for the presentation of the Foy Sportsmanship Trophy which is awarded to the winning school of the Alabama-Auburn football rivalry each fall.

Crow is an active student leader across campus, serving as the UA Student Government Association vice president for student affairs.  She has served as the president of Kappa Delta sorority and has been recognized with membership in the XXXI Honors Society for University women.

ODK is comprised of four regions; Crow, along with the other regional winners, is now in consideration for the Gen. Russell E. Dougherty National Leader of the Year Award.

ODK was founded in 1914 at Washington and Lee University; it was the first college honor society of a national scope to give recognition for meritorious leadership and service in extracurricular activities. ODK is present on the campuses of more than 300 colleges nationwide.
