ANNOUNCEMENTS

Swine flu information and what you can do to stay healthy. The Alabama Department of Public Health is actively monitoring the outbreak of human cases of swine flu virus, and to date, no cases are known to have occurred in Alabama. However, UA is prepared to take action, if needed. In the meantime, the Russell Student Health Center provides the following reminders on basic infection control measures for any virus:

  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners also are effective.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
  • Clean and sterilize contaminated surfaces.

For more information on swine flu, visit www.prepare.ua.edu.

The UA Athletic Ticket Office would like your feedback on the experience of purchasing student football tickets. Please take a minute to fill out the survey so that we can improve the process for next year. The survey can be found by clicking on the following link: Student Football Ticket Survey. The ticket office would like to hear from you no later than Thursday, April 30. Thank you.

Students may pick up a free campus directory at the information desk on the second floor of Ferguson Center. Directories include a campus map, departmental mailing addresses and phone numbers, faculty/staff listings and student e-mail addresses.
