Residents to spend billions on rebuilding efforts
…A report from the Center for Business at the University of Alabama finds that state residents will spend somewhere between two and a half billion and four billion dollars on rebuilding efforts. Researchers say about one billion will be spent this year, with the remainder following next year.

ALVerify to ensure compliance with state immigration law

National Weather Service to hold storm spotter training at UA

The National Weather Service is on a mission to help you learn how to spot and survive disasters similar to those experienced on April 27th. The storm spotter class will be held tomorrow at the Bryant Conference Center on the University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa. Weather experts will talk about ways to prepare for the unexpected, as well as things to look for when Mother Nature threatens.

Law school offers free legal services for students

Some UA students may be unaware of the wide range of legal services provided by the School of Law’s legal clinics here at the Capstone. The law school’s seven different clinics provide students with practically every type of representation that they could need during their college career. And it is all done free of charge…“The Civil Law Clinic has existed for more than 35 years,” said Anne Hornsby, associate dean for Clinical Programs at the School of Law… “Students from the law school represent our clients in court,” Hornsby said. “Each case is supervised by a staff attorney to make sure it’s done correctly. The law clinics are very unique in that they are an academic program that also extends services to students of the University.”…
